Description: This is a brief introduction to the Mongolian countryside, Mongolian culture, and the capital city, Ulaanbaatar. This tour is intended to present the major tourist attractions, with the convenience of staying overnight at a hotel in Ulaanbaatar City.
Destinations: Ulaanbaatar City, Terelj National park, Khustai National Park, 13th Century Complex, Manzushir Monastery
Activities: Sightseeing, Ulaanbaatar City tour and optional trekking and horseback riding.
ITINERARY & PRICE
Day 1: Arrive at Ulaanbaatar City, Transfer to hotel. After some personal refreshment, start guided city tour. Visit to Zaisan Memorial to see a view of the entire city. Our staff will guide you through some major spots, such as Sukhbaatar Square and the Opera House. Visit the Museum of Natural History and other museums, if time allows. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Khustai national park and see the Wild horses or Przewalski horses. Trekking to nearby mountains and horse riding are optional. Visit a nomadic herder family and taste some hand processed diary products. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
Day 3: Drive to the 13th century complex. See how the Mongols lived in the 13th century. Horse and camel riding is optional. Then drive to Terelj National Park. See a rock shaped like a turtle and visit a temple in the middle of a rocky mountain. Stay overnight at the ger camp.
Day 4: Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Tour Ulaanbaatar City for a full day. Visit Gandan monastery, the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of National History. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Optional: Drive to Manzushir monastery instead of the city tour. The Monastery is situated in the splendid set of forests and rocks. Although most part of this old monastery is destroyed by the communists, it is still one of the popular tourist destinations. See a local museum. Stay overnight at a tourist camp near the monastery or drive back to Ulaanbaatar and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Take advantage of free time before your departure. Visit some cashmere, clothing, souvenir and antique shops. Transfer to the airport
