Description: “The Wonders of Zavkhan” is one of our brand name tours. This tour gives an off-the-beaten-track introduction to the Mongolian landscape and the nomadic people and culture. This tour introduces you to the Mongolian Gobi Desert and the Forest (Khangai), High Mountain, and Lake landscapes, in a timely and cost-efficient way.
Activities: Activities include sightseeing, blueberry harvesting, and soaking in a natural spring, The Ulaanbaatar City Tour, trekking, and horseback riding are optional.
ITINERARY & PRICE
Day 1: Arrive at Ulaanbaatar City, Transfer to hotel. After some personal refreshment, start guided city tour. Visit to Zaisan Memorial to see a view of the entire city. Our staff will guide you through some major spots, such as Sukhbaatar Square and the Opera House. Visit the Museum of Natural History and other museums, if time allows. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to the airport to fly to Tosontsengel in Zavkhan Province. Drive to our camp ground. Visit a nomadic family and observe their dairy processing activities. Enjoy horseback-riding and harvesting blueberries and other fruits. Tent camping.
Day 3: Drive to Lake Bust in Telmen soum. Enjoy leisure time at the shore of the beautiful lake surrounded by forest. Tent camping.
Day 4: Drive to Lake Har stopping over Lake Telmen and Zambaga tourist camp for refreshment. Realize the quick change in the landscape from forest mountain to Gobi desert. Tent camping at the shore of the Lake.
Day 5: Drive to Uliastai soum, center of Zavkhan Province. Visit local market and see the provincial museum. Hot shower is available. Stay overnight at a hotel or drive to Ih Mongol tourist camp after taking hot shower.
Day 6: Drive to the Dayan Deerkh Terrace to see a beautiful view of Mount Otgontenger. Continue driving and reach Mount Otgontenger, one of the most sacred mountains in Mongolia, rich with a highly religious and symbolic meaning for the Mongolian people.
Day 7: Spend the entire day relaxing at the camp, soaking in the natural spring, riding horses, and trekking to the mountains.
Day 8: Drive to Lake Khag in Yaru Soum, Zavkhan Province, Stay overnight at a Ger tourist camp.
Day 9: Drive to Uliastai to catch your flight to Ulaanbaatar
Day 10: Take advantage of free time before your departure. Visit some cashmere, clothing, souvenir and antique shops. Transfer to the airport.
