Mongolian Travel Info
If you need visa to enter Mongolia, you can NO LONGER obtain visas at border points or at the
airport due to changes in regulations.  You need to obtain a visa before coming to Mongolia. Please
apply to the Mongolian Embassy in your country to obtain a visa.  If there is no Mongolian embassy
in your country, the honorary councils of Mongolia in your country (if there is one) can issue a
Mongolian visa. 

Do I need Visa?

US citizens do not need visa to visit Mongolia up to  90 days. Visitors for more than 90 days need a
visa, service charge is $100. No visa fee is required.

Citizens of European Union countries, the UK, Canada, Australia, Sweden, and Switzerland need
visas to travel in Mongolia.

Please check with the Mongolian Embassy or honorary council in your country for the specific
requirements and procedures for obtaining a Mongolian visa. For websites of Mongolian embassies

Citizens from the following countries do not need visa to visit Mongolia for trips lasting for the
number of days specified below:

2. Israel - 30 days for all types of passports

3. Kazakhstan - 90 days for all types of passports

4. Malaysia - 30 days for all types of passports

5. Philippines - 21 days for all types of passports

6 .Singapore - 14 days for all types of passports


Diplomatic and official passport holders of from the countries listed here, do not need visas to visit
Mongolia.

1. Bulgaria - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders. Ordinary passport holders need visa

2. Czech - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 90 days. Ordinary passport
holders need visa

3. Hungary - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 30 days. Ordinary passport
holders need visa

4. Mexico - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 90 days. Ordinary passport
holders need visa

5. Republic of Korea - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 30 days. Ordinary
passport holders need visa

6. Romania - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders. Ordinary passport holders need visa

7. Russia - no visa for diplomatic and official passports within 90 days, ordinary passport holders need
visa

8. Slovakia - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 90 days. Ordinary passport
holders need visa

9. Thailand - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 30 days. Ordinary passport
holders need visa

10.Turkey - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 30 days. Ordinary passport
holders need visa.

11. Vietnam - no visa for diplomatic and official passport holders within 90 days. Ordinary passport
holders need visa and no visa fee

12. China - no visa for all type of passport holders. Private travelers need visa

13. Laos - no visa for diplomatic, official and ordinary passport holders within 90 days. Private
travelers need visa

14. DPRK - no visa for diplomatic, official and ordinary passport holders. Private travelers need visa

15. Yugoslavia - no visa within 90 days for diplomatic, official passport holders. Ordinary passport
holders with the consulate mark indicating the business purpose

16. Cuba - no visa for diplomatic, official and ordinary passport holders within 30 days. Private
